Im due to attend a tribunal hearing as the respondant. A witness of the applicant side has committed an offence under the data protection act by giving some personal data of mine on a witness statement. this has now been lodged with the police who will be taking a statement from the person. i have now had letter from the land reg informing me that the chief adjudicator will be looking at the file before the hearing takes place. does anyone know what the chief adjudicator may due, we have asked for the witess statement to be removed.

Is this tied in with the purchase of land or the transferance of property in anyway, or was it an event from the reading of a will or a deed of trust ?.

Was a solicitor involved ?.

You say the Police are involved, which I assume means a criminal offence has been deemed possible ?

My advice : Get a 30min fixed fee interview with a solicitor, it will be the best money you have ever spent.

Hi code1. thanks for reply. yes it is tied in with property, ex partner trying to claim an interest in property which he transfered to me a couple of years ago-im now registered propriotor and took a mtg in my name to purchase, because he sold it me for less than market value-about �20k he is saying that it gives him an interest. I used a solicitor for the transfer, he chose not to, although he was advised on numerous occassions to do so. the witness statement was from a friend of his who worked for a bank and gave out my personal bank details, ie loan agreements, salary etc, I informed the ICO who says she committed a criminal offence but because it was not in the interest of the public they would not prosecute, so her statement was read out at the tribunal, thankfully I had a good barrister who shot her down and made her confess that some of the contents were untrue. I have now been advised to take out a private case against her, which I am doing. As for the decision regarding beneficial interest I am still waiting to hear, even though the hearing was back in May 08. Im begining to think they have forgotton me, although when my sol asks to see if there has been a decision made, they just say no decision made yet.
