Suggestion of books
6 Answers
Hi there, I confess I am not much of a book reader but do enjoy a good book when I find one. I am looking for suggestions, I am generally not a fiction person although I have read The King Dark Tower series and I loved most of it. I do like auto/biographys I read the Anthony Keidis biograpghy and enjoyed it. My all time so far fave book is Shantaram - Gregory David Roberts - which was suggested to me by a random customer quite out of the blue and he raved so much about it I had to give it a go and I love it. I read A piece of cake - Cupcake Brown which is about prostitution and child abuse, I did enjoy it as much a possible. I also read Marching Powder suggested by Amazon on the basis of me liking Shantaram and again I enjoyed it. The last two books are drug smuggling/prison/crime/auto-biographys and tbh I do seem to like them but I am up for trying anything good. Also read a couple of Sarah Waters books.
Sorry for rambling on. Look forward to your suggestions.

Have you read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini yet? Though not autobiographical, it is worth a read.
I have just finished C J Sansom's Revelation. Its the fourth in a series of historical who- dunnits. Excellent, gripping to the last page.
I'll look out for Marching Powder. Thanks for that.
Hope you enjoy them.

Stewart A Life Backwards -Alexander Masters - true story of a homeless man the author befriended and his "backwards "story of how he ended up on the streets - one of my fave books of all time, heartbreaking one moment and sidesplittingly funny the next
