Im thinking about taking my girlfriend to see Mamma Mia in the west end on thursday night. When I go on ticket websites they are really expensive and for days ages away. Is there a way of buying them on the night? cheers

The only official website for the Society of London Theatre (which includes all of the West End theatres) is Ticketmaster. Their site is showing 'currently not on sale' for next Thursday, which is another way of saying 'Sold out':

Any other site is going to add a (very large) premium to their ticket prices. You've got no choice other than to pay the high prices on unofficial sites or to search for alternative dates on the link I've provided. .
Alternatively, if you're prepared to consider another show, your best bet for 'on the day' ticket sales is the official 'tkts' booth in Leicester Square:
