You are not making a lot of sense - we are not psychic.

Am I to assume you lived in your ex's house for 8 years, rent free, you've now split up and want a pay off?
Question Author
no not rent free i have been giving her housekeeping every week this is to cover half the bills and food that was agreed when i moved in .
Question Author
we have not split yet but its getting there i looking to move out as soon as i have a place to go to.
half the mortgage? or half the living expenses?

did you supply the contents you now want to share? If so you may have some rights to them.
So you've been paying for half the food, which you would have eaten wherever you lived, and half the bills which would have had to be paid wherever you lived.

Lodgers pay that, and more, but don't expect to leave with a pay off.
Question Author
im not a lodger i live here for now anyway and don't want a pay off i just think that after 8 years i should have something the law needs to change if you live with someone for a long time you should have the rights as a married person after all now gays that ender a civil relationship have the same rights as a married person so why can't i ????
Because you haven't bothered to get married.

If two gay men live together and don't enter a civil partnership, they are in exactly the same position as you are now.

If you wanted the same rights as a married couple, you should have got married.
Agree with Ethel. Marriage is there for a reason - it sorts out much contractual angst.
