Would you disapparate and leave your baby son to be killed by Voldemort? And if you could take someone else with you when you disapparate, why would the Weasleys waste much-needed money on Floo powder? They could just grab a kid, go to wherever, come back for the next kid, etc.

You need eye contact for legilimency, for one thing. Maybe there were anti-apparition wards over Godric's Hollow. Maybe you can't carry another with you when you Disapparate. Or maybe after a. being found when they'd gone into hiding, b. having a friend (whether she thought it was Sirius or Wormtail) betray them, c. seeing Voldemort of the glowing red eyes and no nose in her living room, and d. having her husband killed in front of her.. Or perhaps she just lost her presence of mind. Its possible. Flytterbye

hey harry potter is full of baffling questions but no one can truly answer the question even if we had j.k rowling answering the question coz i don't think she'd know either. it's just part of the storyline i guess.

As it says in the books it was Lily's sacrifice that saved Harry.  If Lily had gone, then Harry wouldn't have had her protection and he would have died!  Then where would we all be?
