Ummmmmm, hard as it is I've learnt not to judge a book by it's cover:) As to protecting your personal finances bear in mind the Woody Guthrie lyric - "Some men will rob you with a six gun - others with a fountain pen". The prospective son in law in the suit with a University degree & driving a BMW could seriously affect your personal finances too - just he'll probably do it with a little more style!
