To quote the staff of Today in 1986:
Now youll be able to see if Red Rum is red, Frank Bruno is in the pink, Geoff Boycott is blue, and why all the competition is green with envy. Today was Britains first national newspaper published in colour. For nearly four years it was alone in the field. Employing some of the best photographers of their time, and shooting on transparency film for superb quality, this unique newspaper generated some of the iconic images of its age. The result is a unique archive of contemporary news and features pictures, all in colour, covering the late 1980s and early 1990s.
