can the local library not help?
Question Author
Hi,thanks i already checked amazon but the books are not available and i will check the library but just wondered if there were any other sites that dealt in this kind of thing?
As craft suggests, your nearest 'main' library could well have a local studies section and associated librarian - both would be a good port of call.

You could also try the local museum service. They often have loads of contacts and links to local history bods that may be able to help.
