He reversed his name into Latin,in which Lutwidge beca,e Lewis,and Charles became Carroll.
Apart from his writings he was a very talented (an early) photographer.
Sadly,he seems to have been rather too obsessed with pre adolescent girls.Not that he ever touched them it seems.
He was preoccupied with their innocence,indeed once Alice(Liddell) became a woman he was not interested in her any more.
Strange world then,strange people.
