A good habit to get into is that of keeping a notebook and writing something every day. If you're not sure what to write at first, time yourself. Open the notebook, take your pen or pencil, and write. Keep going for two minutes and no longer. Doesn't matter if what if what you write is just a load of gibberish - you're the only one who'll ever see it. Very soon you'll find more and more ideas going into and coming out of what you write, and you'll find yourself wanting to write for longer and longer. and then there'll be no stopping you.
Also, read, read, and then read some more. If you want to write, then you really can't read enough. Anything you like. It's all inspiration. You can afford to be a bit more picky once you've established a writing habit and are beginning to specialise a little more.
Have fun!

Saxy-jag gives good advice.
If you want to meet lots of others in the same boat as you, register with a social networking site such as Facebook, and build up an "audience" for the most mundane of happenings.
And I could not agree more with the recommendation to "read, read, read, and then read some more" - something will encourage you to tell a tale in prose or in verse.
Bon chance with your attempts.

It's good to hear that you want to start writing and I will be happy to suggest some tips for that.
1. Start reading some good novels and books.
2. Learn new words while reading a novel to update your vocabulary.
3. Make a habit of writing on a daily basis, write whatever you like to.
4. Never miss writing
5. Start writing some short stories in the beginning.
6. By doing these activities you will improve your writing skills and start develping the creativity in your writing with experience.
