What is the name of a book about five women

I read two books that appeared to be part of a series about 5 women who come very diverse backgrounds. The books dealt with each woman's life during an event or crisis. The characters included a woman who was involved with art, another was a rich widow and another was divorced. If anyone knows the name of the author and title of the books, I would appreciate knowing. Thank you
