Would welcome advice on how to make a witch's wand that has to break on stage - wanted for a production of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe.
Also, does anyone know where I can get hold of an "ivory" looking horn (Viking helmet/Lord of the Rings type horn) for the same production, please?
Thanks!

I guess you arer looking for something a bit more sophisticated.
Not sure about the wand. You could you make 2 wands: one for use through the rest of the play, the other pre-broken, but with a "sleeve" over the break, holding the wand in one piece. The actress could slide the sleeve when the wand breaks - I can't remember how this happens, but you could probably rig some sort of pyro effect (an xmas cracker slide banger?) into the wand, too.
Re the horn - I'm pretty sure that I've seen them in larger novelty/fancy dress stores. They're normally plastic, but a decent paint job should make it look the business to the audience. If you want something more authentic, trying googling under "live action roleplay" (those folk who play "Dungeons & Dragons" type games in full costume) and look for stores that supply the costumes and accessories.
