Hello there shams,
According to several websites I have looked at he (very sadly) comitted suicide.
It seems he had been suffering from depression for years,and obviously it all got too much for him.
This is why many websites refer to his "tragic" death,they seem very reticent to reveal the true cause.
I hope this isn't too much of a shock to you?

Yes unfortunately I came up with the same as Mr Veritas. Some websites skirt around the answer, but it definately appears that he sadly committed suicide. Waste of a talent looking at some of his artwork.
