There's a hot wind called the Sirocco, if that's any help - but I must admit I don't know an author of this name.

Thanks lucca. I have tried to fit Sirocco in , in various forms, but have not managed to come up with an American authoress in spite of my efforts. Thanks for your interest and if you have any more brainwaves I would be very pleased to hear them.
