When all but he had fled...
My father used to recite this poem
The flame that lit the battle's wreck
Whence all but he had fled.......
Also "Under the spreading chestnut tree"..
pass.....I always confuse this one with the Good Ship Venus............
shone round him o'er the dead
I thinlk the poster was looking for a rude version somehow.
Yet beautiful and bright he stood
The boy stood on the burning deck
Eating a tuppenny Walls,
A bit dropped down his trouser leg
And paralysed his balls.

The boy stood on the burning deck
Playing a game of cricket,
The ball flew down his trouser leg
And hit his middle wicket.
The poem and ship were called "Casabianca".
the flames rolled on
he would not go without his fathers word
The boy stood on the burning deck, his body all a quiver
Elton John jumped on him from behind...
and knocked him in the river !

I made that up x
The boy stood on the burning deck
Picking his nose with glee
He rolled it into little balls
And flicked them in the sea
-- answer removed --
The boy stood on the burning deck
Stupid sod.................
The boy stood on the burning deck
His knees were all aquiver
He gave a cough
His leg fell off
And floated down the river.

I thank you !!
What about

Twas christmas day in the workhouse
the snow was raining fast
a bare footed boy with clogs on
stood sitting on the grass
I couldn't read this poem without a lump in my throat. I used to read all the tragic poems from A Book of a Thousand Poems and bawl over them all.
The boy stood on the burning deck
the flames, they licked his ar$e
He did a jig coz he was hot
they singed the hairs upon his bot!
