Is author Philip Pullman promoting Atheism to Kids?
And will the film version take out the religious elements to the story (if the rumours are true)?

As for the movie/s, I have read that the anti-religious stuff will be severely cut/made more obscure. Personally, it seems a bit of a waste of time, as the books are already villified by certain sections of the US populace, who will discourage viewing of the film whatever they do. AFAIK the project has been delayed by original director Chris Weitz' departure from that role, as he felt that he was not sufficiently experienced to handle such a huge project.
