Is there a book out that lists quotes from Mark Twain's books etc.
I don't read fiction, and the idea of reading "Huckelberry Finn" leaves me cold.
But, Mark Twain does have a good turn of phrase when phrased.
Many thanks in advance.
Better to pop into your library and dig into the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations. Better selection, more accurate, and with all sources correctly listed.
Tom Sawyer's pretty much a kids' book but Huckleberry Finn has some claim to be the best American novel. It's about the West and the spread of 'civilisation', and deals with race in a way few books of the time did. If you don't fancy it you don't, but it's a very rewarding read imho.
