Is the AB Ed an impostor?

Dear Current AB Editor,

I just clicked on your avatar because I thought you were maybe an impostor. I was expecting a familiar garden gnome and then I was then surprised to see that you are:
a) Active! - but you sit at a desk in front of a computer all day - so how do you justify that description?
b) Member since April 02! but I know for a fact that you have been on here for a far shorter time than myself.

Maybe you are after all an impostor?

No matter, you seem to be doing a good job and (in my opinion) better than some previous holders of the post. Keep it up.

I think the Ed is genuine; although he hasn't been forthright enough to let you know that his present Avatar is a forth attempt at establishing one which suits the image we may have of him.
