Looking for a book - no title nor author

Hi, I'm looking for a book that I read a review on a while ago but do not know the Author's name nor the title of the book. I'm hoping someone may have read it!
The book is about two men who live in London and have homes across from one another in a square (possibly Sloane square as they are both rich). They also have homes/estates in the country and I think these properties are also viewable to each other. They hate each other.
That's really all I can remember from the review - I can't even recall the main characters names otherwise I could perhaps locate it through google. It was recommended as a great read and I really want to track it down. Any help is much appreciated.

This is an extremely long shot but I was reminded of 'Sweetness' when I read your question. Is it possible "your" book may have been some kind of adaptation of that one? If not, Sweetness is still a very good read:)
