Hi John, is there anything in particular on that site to set it apart from (and this will sound blunt but is not intended to be unkind) thousands of other photography sites I might have found for myself, googling, lol...? (I would have been able to phrase that more politely in my own lingo:) I've had a look but I don't see anything. Sure, they have a forum but I don't see any Identify This Photo category or anything like that...? Please draw my attention to it if I'm missing something (and lord knows I do miss things right before my eyes so I'm not being cocky here.)

Wow, how did you even find that, venator? Internet shopping from USA to Sweden can be horribly expensive with lots and lots of additional fees so I'm gonna have to think twice. Shopping from the UK is much cheaper, I'll do some more googling now I know what breed(s) to include in the search terms. Thanks a lot. I won't stop you from keeping on digging...

I think the woman is an actress but her name keeps eluding me; perhaps it was a studio publicity shot.

beats me.... Lovely photo. My guess is that it wouldn't be a fashion photo, though, unless it's for the hat. It looks more like the sort of glossy photos produced by Hollywood studio glamour photographers of the 1930s. So you might be looking for the work of someone like Clarence Sinclair Bull or Eugene Richee.

lol@jno's film about glamorous dogs and craft I like your theory as well. Lovely link scotman - I've just found out Jane Russell is still alive, really surprised me. Carole Lombard was a funny girl too but I don't think it's her (or should that be 'she'?), nor Jean Harlow. Jno thanks for those two names, I've had a quick look, some very nice portraiture there.
