COpenhagen, BRussels and Amsterdam. Karel Appel is perhaps the most renowned. His paintings are often of animals and are incredibly innocent and "happy" looking!
Much of the cubist movement (Picasso, Deschamps) involved distorting the angle of view so that one saw, for example, a person in profile but a full-front eye. Or a sitll life showing the flat surface of a table as if from the top, but with the legs visible in profile, and the items on the table from all different angles. Or a nude descending a staircase all at once, so she has multple legs and body parts as she moves through space.
