recently bought a carlton ware biscuit barrel with a silver/silver plate lid
only marking on lid is A B & Co in losenge shape and number482 .anyone help. Is it silver or plated silver

If it hasn't got a hallmark it's probably plate.

A B & Co are the makers 482 is either the model No or possibly the list in the amount made.

Is there nothing on the bottom or inside at the bottom.

As Sandys says no Hallmark its not silver.

Nothing I can find Handle is very ornate Will get my glass on it and see if I can find a hall mark
