Any authors out there in AB land who would like their work proof read and/or edited? Absolutely no charge whatever, just send as a .doc and single line spaced and I'll return it as such...I've got loads of time on my hands is all! Ta Muchly.

It's the publishers rather than authors who employ proof readers. They check not only the text, but for any printing faults in a proof copy before full production goes ahead.

Okay Heathfield, I accept that bit about the publishers, but if anyone does want their work editing and re-reading, then my offer still stands - and no charges whatsoever!

woodelf, when I've been involved in writing, I write in the style the publishers ask, right from the outset - double line spaced, wide margins, if I send it to anyone for proof-reading before submitting. Offer appreciated though!

Well, thank you so much for that accusatory remark wyzard. I'm a techno duffer, but I think that documents created on a pc have time and date alongside the document, which would prove where the original work originated. I openly offered to do summat for nowt and this is what I get. If anyone else thinks the same...then forget it!

Question Author
Yes Boxie, I submit my own...I repeat own...work in double line spacing too, but for editing it is easier in single when using a screen reader. Careful wyzard, that's almost libel.

I wrote almost....but I hope the AB team are reading this?
woodelf - given your visual challenges, this is a generous offer if anyone can take you up on it.

Many Thanks for your support Boxie...but no doubt it's given wyzard more ammo for vitriol!
