Old drawing board

My next door neighbour is an elderly lady.  She has in her garage an old drawing board that used to be her son's when he was a student.  She asked me how she can get rid of it.  I have tried a friend who is an architecture lecturer who told me that universities don't use drawing boards any more because all the designing is done on the computer now.  I also tried two charities that collect furniture but they both told me they don't collect drawing boards. I can't think of any other way.  Has anybody got any ideas? Thank you.
