I am considering changing my hair colour to the bright red that is quite popular at the moment, my hair is blonde and has been made lighter by the sun although i dont think this will matter as I believe they put a base colour on first, I have a medium tone skin although I have a bit of a tan at the moment and I have brown eyes, it will be quite a big step as I think its difficult to go back to blonde if i dont like it, what do you guys think have you ever made a drastic hair colour change?

I did the same. I tried vibrant Red by Live colour but it was too 'primary colour for me' so had to tone it down and re-dye with Watermelon by Garnier. I love this colour as it is a warm and golden. My hair was medium brown to begin with.
It would be difficult going back to blonde and I wouldn't like to suggest how if you didn't like it.
Good luck x

I would advise you not to self-colour from blonde to red as it WILL go horribly wrong - only let a good hairdresser do it! Also be prepared to need to wear more make up - red hair can make you look very washed out and makes certain colours not suit you (I speak as someone who has to wear make up all the time due to my red hair!)
I have had my hair red, pink, purple etc. I use so called 'vegetable' dyes they are semi permanent and wash out in 2 or 3 weeks depending on the condition of your hair and how often you wash it and the shampoo you use. My hair is naturally mid brown so I have bleached highlights because I like the colour to be very vibrant but they do show to a lesser extent on the brown bits too. Have a look here http://www.hairdyegallery.co.uk . I used Pillarbox red a couple of weeks ago and it's faded to a nice magenta now. Why not find somewhere that sells wigs you could try on some different colours and see what suits and what you'd be happy with.
