At what age should you cease to have long hair, do you think?

I can sit on mine easily, but I wear it pinned up all the time, I think I'd like it cut, but my hubby would be horrified. It's in good condition, the ends get trimmed regularly, and even though I'm 50, I have no grey i it.

But each to his (or her own). Wear your hair how you like it and what is right for you.
50 is young anyway!!
At 64 of course I have a blue rinse and a curly perm!!

Keep it long...and be different from all the women who get their hair cut ridiculously short at a 'certain' age. It's a shame-I think short hair takes away from a woman's feminity-just when she may need it the most. If you've got it-flaunt it.
Mine is 'only' shoulder length...long compared to some other 63 year olds ;-)

Mine is short and feathered and modern, Pasta. Short hair can be very youthful!! I don't think long hair necessary makes a woman look more feminine if the face is old. It depends what suits you. I have had long hair and short hair. I had an urchin cut when I was young at one stage and it certainly didn't look unfeminine.
I look much older now when I grow my hair and far less trendy!!

Depends on the type of hair Welsh actually. Mine just finger dries in about five minutes and does it's own thing, and looks quite good and modern (and Mr LL likes it) As it grows it looks frumpy and starts to curl and I feel like an old granny.
Possibly either long hair or short hair (cut well by a modern stylist) are both quite easy. It's the inbetween hair that is difficult. I couldn't be bothered to spend time on my hair.

Just wish the face was like that as well. But it suits me and it suits my hair.

I am slowly :) approaching my 50th Bday and have waist length hair in this weather i tend to wear it up more than loose. I mentioned this to my hairdresser on my last visit and she seems to think 50 isnt old to have long hair, so i shall not be having my hair chopped off and in a tight curly perm with blue rinse for at least another 15 years ;-)

Please don't cut it - just to satisfy others who are probably jealous! I am 63 and still have natural blonde hair just past shoulder length and would not dream of having it cut, having had long hair all my life - its a sort of trade-mark! My husband loves it and we often laugh at those of a similar age to us who all have the same short frumpy haircut we call a "MAC" - middle age cut!!!
But not all short cuts are frumpy!! Mine isn't, god forbid. There is a standard frumpy cut I think. Layered, cut in close at the back of the neck and small triangles in front of the ears. (Neat and Tidy!!)
I am 64, have a short trendy ragged cut and am blonde (at present) and don't conform.
There are some older ladies with long hair that look far older than their years because of their long hair. They often look young from the back and when they turn round it is quite a shock to see an elderly face. And long hair can often 'drag a face down'.
People should wear what suits them, whatever age - long or short. I have had both in my time but just don't like long hair on me now, it's ageing.
