Colour retaining shampoo

Had my hair coloured recently, shades of deep red, hairdresser wanted to flog her expensive range of colour shampoo, but was looking for a less expensive but just as good product, anyone got any suggestions?

My hairdresser once told me there is not alot you can do to stop hair dyed red fading and all these expensive products are not worth the money.

Although I love the colour conditioner you get with Nice&Easy....whatever it is.
