Most of the competition people seem to like carnauba based waxes but they can be difficult to use and may not last as long.

"best" can be a tricky word

I usually use the colour fast colour match one, as it fills in all the little scratches and stuff as it goes.

Although it can leave your clean cloths the same colour as the polish and it's easy to apply too much in one go.

Most second hand car dealers use this a lot tooa nd you can usually smell it as you walk onto their forecourt!

I found a cheap carplan wax in paste form to give a great long lasting finish.  It's very good value and easy to apply and remove too.  I used to use Auto Glym super resin which is good but I hear if you have any paint work done on your car it can prove a problem due to the resins in it.  I have tried Mer but find it difficult to remove if you try to polish a whole panel in one go and really find it hard work.  i've tried applying it in many ways but still have probs.
I have also tried Turtle Wax 'Wax it Wet' which I didn't get on with either.  Found it left water marks on my dark blue car.

This works and its easy. Not cheap, but it does the job.

Sorry, this is irrelevant to original question...

Jay70, if you apply the wax with a damp (but not wet!) cloth, it makes it a lot easier to buff off!
