Allergic to eyelash extensions glue

over the years, I have had eyelash extensions applied by about six different places with no problems apart from the last two occasions where I woke the following day with dreadfully itchy and swollen eyes.

Apparently this is caused by skin reacting to the glue. Does anyone know what it is in the glue that causes the problem for some people (so I can avoid it)? I read it might be latex and or formaldehyde (thought the latter was an acid! Surely it can't be applied to the eye area?)

Thanks.
