To tip or not to tip, that is the question.

I have bought a piece of furniture on ebay and a company I found on the tinternet won a bid to deliver. Two men are bringing it and will carry it up one flight of wide, not steep, stairs. It shouldn't take them any more than 5 mins once they arrive. So do you think I should tip them or not and if so how much? Thanks.

They are delivering it to suit themselves as I wasn't in a hurry and said do it when they are down this way. Do you tip more because they have travelled further or not tip because they have only come a couple of miles? I think that is already factored into the price. I would be more inclined to tip for politeness and taking care not to do any damage o the item and our property. Can you tell me why you think the mileage makes a difference, I may change my mind then.
If I were not so tight and decided to tip, I would take into account the distance covered as well (no idea why though, or how much distance would have to be covered to warrant a tip). Why not get some cans of lager or something and if you like the look of them and they do a good job, you can give them the cans and if they are rubbish you can drink the cans yourself?
