my zanussi fridge freezer momber stated above has all of a sudden gone worng the fridge part is warm even though the digital display shows +5 and the freezer is working just fine and splay is correct also on -18. now i had someone come to look and talk about a quick look didnt even check anything but said it is NOT the thermostat and the vents are clear and doesnt seem to be any build up ice and fan i think also seems to be working..the digital display inside frdge seems to work but cant be giving the correct temp of fridge as says +5 and it is no way near that at all more li +18...so my question is the man that came says its the circuit board which i assume means the one to the thermostat and says it will cost that much to replace you better off with new appliance.but this cost m799 pound 1 and half year ago....so please does anyone know about fridge freezers and do you think the man is correct in what he says or is it worth me trying to do anything to fix it myself or get anyone else...many thanks

You can buy a separate thermometer to check that temperature claim. But if it feels warm to you then it must be failing.
In any event it sounds like you need to get it fixed professionally. Get a couple of estimates and then decide if it is worth your getting it repaired or purchasing new.

You state that you have had the appliance for 18 months, guessing the warranty was for a year, I would return to where it was purchased and inform them that under the sale of goods act you require the appliance to be repaired/ replaced , an appliance like that should last more than 18 months, you have a very very strong case here, be firm and be sure to state the sale of goods act when complaining.
I couldnt go back to the shop as it was from focus but what i have done is contacted the zanussi people direct and said this to them and glad to say they have sent someone out and they are going to replace the parts for free, all they ask is i pay 49 pound for there labour.which is fine by me as its cheaper then buying a new fridge freezer.Maybe i should of insisted they pay everything but we really need it fixing as got a 6 month old and need a fridge.so thanks for your advice i apreciate it....
