I understand it's better for the health of the hair to use a lower volume of developer. however as my natural base is a 5 I must leave the 20 vol on much longer than the 30 - is this still a better option for the hair in the long term?

Even though I am technically leaving the peroxide on longer?

I have enquired at Sally's but was told it shouldn't make much difference either way!

I'm hoping a professional will take pity on me and put my mind at ease.

What would be better for my hair:

Highlights using 30 vols. for 45 mins
or
Highlights using 20 vols. for 70 mins.

Thank you.
