I had appalling gnat bites last summer and was prescribed Eurax cream. You can either get it on prescription, but I've seen it for sale in the chemists too. Hope you sort something out soon tinkers, I think itching is one of the worst things in the world!
It sounds very old fashioned, but Calamine lotion might be worth a try to relieve the itching.
I had really itchy legs during a stressful period. Piriton allergy tablets were a real help.

Tinks, it's not scabies is it? xx
Could it be eczema or contact dermatitis? I experienced that a number of years ago. At the time I thought it might be the elastic from socks,or washing powder. I switched to non bio,and cotton socks. Seemed to help.
Hi tinx, stop shaving. No point if you get bleeding legs ;)
My wife had the same problem. Weirdly enough it turned out to be her mouthwash. Stopped the mouthwash and all was well again.
I find I get super itchy legs at this time of year. I think it is due to dry skin. I find E45 cream works a treat.
Unaccustomed as I am to giving beauty advice .....

... try Nivea Soft - it's very, very good for itchy skin

Dxx
Just a thought from a mere male tinks, do you regularly wear trousers ? If so go back to skirts & dresses for a while & see if that helps.

tinkerbell, it's not the baby oil gel you used is it? I had a similar reaction to baby oil gel.
I get this sometimes on the backs of my hands and wrists and I don't have dry skin at all. I'd wake up scratching like mad, sometimes drawing blood. I've googled and decided it's 'winter itch' which seems to have no obvious cause and does come and go. Eurax certainly helped.
Itchy legs at this time of year is fairly common, particularly in men, and as you get older. Google "Winter Itch" or "Xerosis" or see here:

Eurax is the total business. It has got crotamiton in. I think that Boots do a crotamiton cream too and its cheaper.
it's the shaving maybe ? are you ' better' ?
The power of words! Having read this I am now starting to itch.
