It's opinion but it's not that awful and one assumes Mick thought it was OK. Without doubt this gets my vote for the worst cover and total ruination of a song ever by someone who's supposed to be a great singer. It's beyond dire.

I saw her play live in Montreal a few years ago, she held a sell-out audience of over two-thousand people absolutely spellbound from start to finish, and she is one of the greatest female performers I have ever seen - mind you 22 albums and 27 singles between 1965 and 2018 can do that do you ...

No, what is sad is that the press made up a scurrilous story about her which is untrue (she denied it yet again when we met) and that has haunted her forever more.

Just to prove my earlier point, I really like this!

I saw Mr Cullum in Montreal (I see an amazing number of fine gigs there!) and he was wonderful, although I'm not a fan particularly.

What impressed me was that he is absolutely a jazz musician, but in concert, he performs like a rock star.

I met him in the hotel lift the next day, we were staying in the same place, and I told him that view, he was pleased.

Fair enough - I believe Ms Faithfull. She told me face to face, and let's face it, she'd have had a much easier time if she had agreed it was true, and simply ignored all the fuss about it.

But she remains vaguely vexed, and rightly so in my view, that a stupid press prank has overshadowed a seriously impressive body of recorded and live work over fifty-five years.
