nose piercing

i am 17 next october and will be starting college. over the summer i was thinking about getting my nose pierced. at the moment i just my ears done twice at the bottom, and on one ear - once at the top. but i dont wear my hair up much so its not too noticable. i thiiiink a nose piercing might suit me, as im not chavy at all, my style is quite alternative/emo kind of thing... do u think i should just GO FOR IT, coz i can always take it out if i dont like it! thanks

IF you are asking for an opinion - although at just 16 you will not take any notice. Should you go for it ? NO NO NO. I just cannot see the attraction of having nose adornment and think it looks really cheap and tawdry, however it would be interesting to hear other comments.

hi swizz, you go for it if you want to. I've had mine pierced 5 times in the past, the first time I was 14. It always annoyed me though and I ended up letting it heal up, then would have it pierced a couple of years later. Like you say, you can always take it out if you dont like it :)

Hiya swizz, I remember going through the same sort of thing when I wanted to get a tattoo, so many qustions, should I go for it? should I wait a bit longer? what If I don't like it? unfortunately, you can't just take a tattoo out if you don't like it!

It was only when I stopped asking questions I realised I really wanted to get it done. If it's something you want then you won't need to justify it.

Hi Swizz, I had my nose pierced about 12 years ago, it healed up then I had it pierced again. I dont wear nosestuds now. But there is scar tissue where I had it done. And I feel very conscious of it. You may not have the same problem. But just thought I would warn you.

yes, get it done now while you can. you may have to take it out when you start work anyway

I don't really like nose piecing in western women. Asians usually do it from birth or when they are quite small as part of their upbringing and it looks natural. Non asian woman look cheap and not very natural with their noses pierced. You need to look around and see how many girls have got it done and see what you think it looks like. If you think they do look nice then go for it but there are going to be people like me that doesn't think it looks natural.
