do people still wear the old "classics" such as youth dew?
that perfume still makes me heave and brings to mind old ladies' knickers!
I wear eternity (calvin klein) or pink pepperpod (molton brown)

sorry mally, it's just a bad association to me - when i used to be a nurse i remember being involved in a resus attempt on a lady who had at the time of the icident wet herself and was wearing that perfume and they are inextricably linked in my mind
Chanel Chance.
Mrs Hughes likes 'Knowing', but I love really heavy scents like 'Poison'.

I think smelling nice is essential, I never get dressed without applying some deodorant and some cologne - current fave is 'Obsession'.
I'm liking Carolina Herrera Good Girl at the moment, I got a gift of Yardly English Rose from an elderly friend back last Christmas, was thinking of using it for - i dunno, give the bathroom a nice smell, but once I sprayed it, I was taken back to the 70's and remembered my parents heading out for a night and my Mam wearing that kind of scent, I like it, in a funny sort of way, it gives me good memories
Used to like Rive Gauche and Anais Anais (when it cost next to nothing at airport duty free) but now stick to the Sanctuary body sprays and perfumes.
an old aunty of mine always sent me the original 4711, horrible stuff but i didn't have the heart to tell her x
I love the Sanctuary body washes Haz, my friend and her Mam have given me lovely gifts of Rituals, hair and body mist, they're very citrussy and lovely in this kind of weather or when i get out of the pool
I dislike 4711 Mallyh but I know a lady wears it and does the numbers in the bookies lotto, she has won a few times with those numbers 4,7 and 11 :)
Issy Miyake ….my all time fav was Quadrille by Balenciaga, not made anymore, like so many :(
I still fondly remember Chloe!
Have just remembered being given a bottle of Coty's "Smitty" - hated it and left it in the bathroom. A young friend visited for tea and was then going on to a party, went to bathroom to titivate herself and came out smelling gorgeous - when I asked her what perfume she was wearing, she replied "it's yours"!! Goes to show perfumes smell differently on different people.
I also remember using Rebel
I used to love Je Reviens by Worth. I was about 18 when a boyfriend who was a bit older bought me the perfume in the little medallion bottle for Christmas- the stuff I was wearing at the time was about 10 shillings A bucketful and I said to my mum ' well he's a bit of a tight wad'. As soon as the shops re-opened my best friend and I went to check out the price ...... £5 a bottle a weeks wages in those days! Nowadays my favourite is Peonies Nobile by Acqua Di Parma
Bednobs youth dew used to make me heave too! I've been trying out a lot of new perfumes as the scent doesn't seem to linger on me.
A lady who works in a local shop wears Clinique Elixir. When I go in that shop I know immediately if she’s working that day. It smells heavenly.
Ladies
do none of you know that the make up of a perfum - - - changes?
so Chanel WObbler ( 1962, I made the name up) may well NOT be the same as Chanel Wobbler 1978.

I used to use Eau Sauvage - the yellow and black one
and the last stores were in airport lounges, which I sortta mechanically cleaned out. Someone said, you do realise it is likely that the stuff that hooked you is NOT what you are buying now?
I didnt

Yeah and the pongo that follows a leddy is 'sillage' ?
"'Sillage' is the French word for the perfume trail left in the air when someone leaves the room, similar to the 'wake' of a boat or the track ...

I live in the wrong slum
I wore men's Joop homme for years but grew out of it. I have Good Girl for special occasions but usually wear Chloe Nomade or Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia at the moment. My mother loved Coty L'aimant but my father always gave her Je Reviens which she hated (it's bright blue and smells like a chemical toilet as well as looking like one).
My grandfather bought me my first ever 'perfume' when I was in my early teens.
Black Rose, by Goya. I swear the bottle was the size of an Oxo cube. Very small.
