Eye liner?
10 Answers
No matter what eyeliner I use I can never seem to get it on properly. Instead of a crisp dark line my ends up smudgy and faded looking.I've tried pens, pencils, sticks, all sorts but to no avail. It always seems fine when I mark a line on the back of my hand but when trying the eye - disaster!! I ask my friends which liner they use cos there's looks fine, so I buy it and on me it's awful. Is there a secret in putting it on and what I am doing wrong?

do you use any cream around your eyes? i was just wondering because that might cause your eyeliner to do that. if that is the case do what orangelady says and put powder on first as this will give the eyeliner something to cling to. hope that helps xXx p.s i use maybelline eyelinermatic i find it really good xXx
Thanx everyone for all your advice
I do avoid the eye area with my moisturiser posy-jo. I will try the powder tip because it is the application that is the problem, not fading or smudging during the day - just getting it on right to start with.
Still, I won't have that trouble when I get the 6 numbers up cos I'll get someone to do my make up everyday!! (Dream on Netty!) lol
my friend also has problems with eyeliner because she isnt confident about putting it on. do you have that problem too? when it comes to eyeliner you need to get used to having something near your eye and not be afraid to apply it with sufficient force so that you get a bold line that is clear and sharp
Hi Netty, you can get the smudge pots at branches of Selfridges and Space NK. You can get some of the range on the internet at www.spacenk.co.uk. As Belle Fast says you also need a brush to apply it with.
Hi Pawsabelle - thankx for that info. I have been trying to find Smudge pots but only in the usual places and the town I live in is quite small. I did manage to find a Rimmel one called Exaggerate and it went on quite easily and has stayed on all day, but I will give those Smudge pots a whirl! Cheers
