Hi sam!
I recently bought Virgin Vie's Brightening Boost from a party my mate held. I can't rave about it enough! Two people have actually stopped me and said I have radiant skin! :o))
You're meant to wear it under your foundation, but I put a tiny bit on the apples of my cheeks over my blusher or bronzer. You use so little that it lasts forever. I think I bought it for 12.50, but they're being sold on eBay too...

It's been promoted to my make up must-have and because there's no colour to it you can also use it as a highlighter on your brow bone, etc!
Hope this helps, ws x

No7 do a version of the high beam which is actually very good, I love benefit but I really have found this to be a pretty alternative. You should also try their bright pink blusher, looks hideous in the pot but brilliant onj. Cant remember what colour it is and I am being to lazy to walk across my bedroom to find it out.
Try mixing a squirt of this:http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?cgi url=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%2Fws%2F&fkr=1& from=R8&satitle=max+factor+sheer&category0=
with your foundation and adding it to your cheeks! Works a treat!

Benefit moonbeam or high beam always works , or for a cheats version, get a very pale pink shimmery powder eye shadow and smudge along the socket bone (above your cheeks but below your eyes)in a sort of diagonal line! Other than that Clinique have some limited edition shimmery blushers...which have light squares just for this!
