Hi,

I'm trying to find out if anyone out there, or anyone you know has had a severe reaction to salon hair dye?
As in what happened, for how long & how it was proven that it was the hair dye...? Also are hairdressers required to do a patch test before putting colour on..?

I had my hair done on Wednesday afternoon, got home and started feeling sick, before I went to bed i was itching all over my arms.. went to bed and couldn't sleep.. my 3am I was covered, in angry raised red lumps..
Went to the Dr's and was given steroids, every day for the next 4 days I couldn't sleep, I went from having a swollen head, with a hugely inflammed forehead, hugely swollen lips, feet so swollen I could hardly walk.. awful..
This morning is the 1st morning I look semi human...
I have never been allergic to any foods, and it seems to me that it can only be the hair dye..

Would really appreciate any responses..

parkers, i work in a hairdressers and a patch test should always be carried out on new customers. No ifs or buts! They are at fault if this wasnt done. I hope you are feeling better now. X
