GHD straighteners - wide plates?

I'm looking to get some GHD hair straighteners and I cannot decide whether I need the wide plates or not. My hair is very thick but not course or particularly curly/frizzy. It's currently shoulder length but I do tend to let it get quite long sometimes. Can the regular width ones cope with thicker/longer hair?

Thanks

After having used both the wide plates and the standard ones i would choose the standard ones every time! My hair is really thick too but i found i had loads more control with the thinner plates. I found it wasn't any quicker with the wide plates! Hope this is of some help.x
I found the standard ones the best, especially if you ever want to slightly 'curl' hair under or flick out - if you know what I mean.
I have very thick hair too & i find the salon style wider ones are definately the best!!
Hiya i would deffo recommend the medium plates they are easier to hold and easier to control how u straighten and style your hair i think u get a smoother finish with them
all best
