contact lenses again.
I had my eyes tested for spectacles last week and bought new glasses. I have just enquired about contact lenses and I was told that I have to pay 27.50 to see if I am suitable and I can either buy them on a monthly scheme by post at 24.50 per month or buy three months supply outright for 100. I don't want to wear them on a regular basis just occasionaly when I go out. Is there a cheaper option that anyone knows of. Is this the normal way of buying them from most opticians.?

I use daily disposables (eliminates the need for loads of faff and expense with cleaning solutions). I pay 25 per month for them. It would be cheaper if you don't have daily disposables. There are a lot of sites on the internet that seem to sell lenses cheaper (you need to know your prescription tho') but I'm fairly happy with the service from my optician (eye tests & check ups are included in the monthly fee) so I'm not too bothered about changing. Hope this is off some help to you!
Yes, unfortunately DD :o( but i can't live without my daily lenses. If you're not getting daily disposables, you'll just pay for a pair that you clean after wearing them....check what is available with your optician.
Otherwise, you can buy pairs from Asda without DD's (I think) www.asda-contactlenses.co.uk/contactlenses
Good luck!

Hi
I'm the same, I just wear them at weekends really.
I went to one of the opticians offering a free monthly trial, used the free ones and then started buying them online (www.contactlens.co.uk being the best and cheapest I've found)
If your optician is trying to talk you into a scheme, try going to specsavers or optical express, usually they will give you a months free trial
