itchy dry scalp

Help anybody out there. Any ideas as to what I can do to get rid of this itchy dry scalp. I have never had it before. My friend does my hair ( she is a qualified hairdresser) but she has gone on holiday for a month and still has three weeks to go. It is really flaking and itchy but don't know how to get rid. Any help would be appreciated.

I used some toni and guy shampoo once and got a dry itchy scal, grr...used this ace shampoo from boots - it was their own brand and it was white with a blue lid, from recollection it was for a dry itchy scalp and they did conditioner too, got rid immediately.

Thank you so much for your help. Still itching. I did find T.gel shampoo yesterday in the supermarket it was expensive but if it works who cares!!!! If it does'nt work then I will definitely try the Boots shampoo. Once again thank you for replying.

Hi Hope this helps, i have suffered for years with the same problem as has my dad(in his 70's) he bought L'oreal
Elvive antidandruff intensive shampoo treatment. and within one wash he was itch free! its in a dark blue bottle with white and orange writing on it. My dad said to me to try it, it wasnt expensive �3.00 ish a bottle, and i havent had a bit of itch either! so i am well impressed with this product. so i would ssay give it a go.

put a cap full of dettol in a basin of warm water and rinse your hair for about ten minutes - works well

Thanks alinic and oh-sherbert. Two more great ideas. It is so nice to know that there are people out there who want to help. I am still using T-gel shampoo and the itching is nearly gone thank goodness. I will defininely keep these ideas because you never know if you may need them again.

This happened to me when i tried herbal essences shampoo, and then again when i tried one of the albert somethingorother ones ! if youve changed shampoo recently maybe that could be causing it ?

coaltar or polytar shampoo but i have a similar prob n use head n shoulders for dry skin both the shampoo n conditioner together wonders
