I'm thinking about getting my hair coloured permanently. I've recently used a semi-permanent colour (superdrugs own)and i worry that it's drying my hair out- but i really like the colour. I've got really fine hair and it's very dry anyway. I want to go from my natural light brown to a copper colour but i'm worried that colour will damage my hair more. is there any truth in this and would continuing to use semi permanent be heathier than a permanent colour?

no.
Your best bet would be to go to a professional hairdresser and asking his/her opinion. Some colours are more drying than others but your hairdresser will know what is best for you
