I have had my tongue pierced since 1996. Its never been a problem for anyone I have met, I have a lot of piercings and the only person who is disappointed in any of them is my mum. She cried when I had my lip pierced.

Men tend to ask lots of rude questions about your tongue piercing by the way. When I first had mine done, I was just out of school and my uncles mate asked if i had ever stuck it down my boyfriends ****. My uncle never spoke to him again.

Lip piercings look awful.

Only common people have them. When did you see anyone attractive with metal rings stuck in their mouth or wherever.

How on earth can people get jobs with all this facial disfigurement.

I have had mine pierced for many years now, I forget it is there. I generally like piercings but do feel some people go a bit OTT. Doc spock I have facial piercings and have never been unemployed since the day I left school so obviously not everyone is as small minded as you and actually consider people for their merits and achievements rather than where they choose to wear jewellery.

In my opinion girls look cheap and tacky with tongue and lip piecings.

It indicates a certain "type" of woman.

I have never seen a doctor, solicitor, bank manager, teacher or anyone in a respectable job with these horrible bits of metal stuck in them.

I am a district nurse so responsible enough I would imagine. I dont sleep around, rarely drink, dont smoke or take drugs. I give blood regularly, volunteer in the community, give to charity. I guess I dont fall into your pathetic stereotype then eh? Or is there any other assumption you would make about my character or morals based on the fact I have my lip pierced?

I guess all I am guilty of is not following the dress code to the letter, as I choose to wear the 'two stud earrings' that are specified in my nose and my lip as opposed to my ears. Maybe I should be sacked on the spot, forget the fact I am a dedicated and hard-working member of staff.

Hi there georgie115! did it hurt?? how does it feel 2day?? i've so wanted to have it done for ages but i'm abit scared!! my mate had her's done whilst she was @ uni a few years ago and said it hurt like hell, although she's neva had any probs with it sinc- i'm a tad worried bout not being able to talk/eat for how eva long after......

We all are. If I see someone for the first time with rings in lips, tongues and noses I have a very low opinion of them.

Admit it, such adornments are more prevalent amongst the types you see on Jeremy Kyle and Trisha.
