My daughter bleached her hair and it looks ridiculous and all strawish, she wants to dye it brown (can't afford hairdressers) - now I remember when I did this a few years ago mine turned green and I think I used Dark Ash blonde, so am thinking she should just use ordinary dark blonde or light brown and steer away from Ash colours, please am I right? Any advice for home colouring welcomed - thank you .

she needs to go darker as the lighter it is it will show the damage more. so go for a dark or medium brown perminant then every other night for the first week put a conditioning treatment on with a hot towel (put in microwave for a couple of mins) for 30 mins then twice a week after that. she also may think it is too dark and it may make her look a little washed out if she has light skin so just use dove tanning lotion.

Her natural colour is dark mousey and her skin tone is quite tanned so that should be ok. Many thanks, I'll pass it on to her.
Putting tomato juice on your hair gets rid of any green tones my wife reckons man!
mr-wonderful's almost right! Buy one or two (depending on length of hair) sachets of chestnut/red colourants. Put those on first, and then add a light brown or whatever. This should stop your daughter's hair from turning green.

Thank you all - yes mr-wonderful I know about the tomato ketchuP/puree -
Dont do it... I done the same thing and used a brown colourant after bleaching my hair...My hair turned green, its was a very costly mistake..I know going to the hairdressers is very expensive buts it worth it in the end. They are proffessionaly trained and they know what their doing..ask around alot of hairdressers do a home service and they dont charge as much..
Good luck

Thanks kitten but we are in Spain and it is very expensive - no home service here. Mine only turned green cos I used Ash blonde which has no red in it, and hair needs repigmenting with red.
definately get a thick, intensive hair mask from Boots. I died my hair blonde and it was just dead. Leave it in for as long as it says and it softens the hair gorgeously! I strongly recommend you do this or else her hair will be as good as dead when you put more dye on it. I'm brunnette now and the best way to do it is to go red (like ice.maiden said) and keep darkening until you get the right brown. This stops greeen :P

No intensive masks here, so will olive oil do the trick?
