creating a ringlet ponytail or bunches

i'd really like to put my hair up in a high ponytail that falls in one long ringlet type curl, but have no idea how to do it -or create 2 separate ringlets for bunches. I asked my hairdresser and she had no idea.

my hair's mid back length and quite thick, so trying to curl my entire ponytail with a tong is not an option.

any ideas?

MY MUM USED TO MAKE ME HAVE MY HAIR EXACTLY LIKE THAT WHEN I WAS A KID.... she used to use rags. like strips of pillowcase, dampened with water, put around the ponytail, tight and left til morning. it works.

awww thats what my mum did too, it does work

or use heated bendy rollers, make several curls, then brush them in together for one chunky one ! if youre hair is thick it will stay put for ages
