Piercings...opinions please!

Am I too old, at 30, to get a new facial piercing? I really fancy getting my lip done (with a labret or a vertical labret), but it seems only teenagers and emos have them nowadays...I'm not particularly "rock and roll", if you know what I mean...lol
Anyone?

Personally I wouldn't do it,I removed my nose stud a couple of years ago because I think piercings just don't look right on women of a certain age..........unless you go the whole hog and have dozens of them,then its all part of a "look" if you know what I mean.lol.

Well thanks people! I'm still not sure, but getting into the idea more and more....
I think they look really nice. I used to have my nose pierced but took that off, so now only have my tongue, which doesn't show really. Mmmhhh....
My problem was with the "whole look" thing. Do you think it suits only certain people who are into certain types of music/art/fashion or can anyone look good with it?

max, why are you asking? If you want to get pierced, do it hun. It shouldn't matter what anyone thinks. I think piercings look good, yes, and having seen you, I think you would suit your labret!

Whiskey, a labret is the one where you only have a little stud in between your bottom lip and your chin.

A vertical labret goes through your lip and you have one stud sitting on your bottom lip, and another one between it and your chin.

Thanks Leela! I know I will oly do whatever I decide eventually, but it's useful to hear what other people think of it. I think some facial piercings look very chavvy, but that's mainly because the person looks chavvy anyway! So I'm wondering whether a "normal" looking person would look like mutton dressed as lamb...lol

Yes I know...The good thing is, if it doesn't suit me or I don't like it, I can just take it off! They generally leave minimal scarring, I heard.

PS: I'm also wondering about kissing, too....lol

Piercing on anything other than ears looks horrible on anybody of any age. I have never heard of anyone thinking that it is attractive other than the people that do it, they are usually pretty ugly in the first place - don't bother.

Each to their own, but I think piercings, especially facial ones look really chavish and make people look disfigured.

Guess it has to be your choice, if you like it, do it.

as you know max..i'm into my tattoos but please for fcuk's sake don't go and get your face pierced...nooooooooo....i once went out with a girl who had loads of piercings....all over...what a turn off.....man..what a downstairs mix up that was!!
