I was reading through some of the most recent questions and this girl mentioned some relaxer that she had got put on her roots. I was wondering what exactly this is as I have quite frizzy, think hair with a big volume and would give anything to get it devolumised. Would this treatment help and does it damage the hair at all?

I have afro caribean hair and have a relaxer put in my hair once every two months so that it is manageable. It is great as it makes me have straight hair and none frizzy roots but I would say that if you can avoid doing this then don't. It does damage my hair and once when I went to my old hairdresser, the front of my hair snapped of as the chemical was too strong. I would advise going to a good afro caribean hairdresser and asking what they think to be honest.
