Nail treatments
Can anyone recommend a good nail strenghtener for brittle nails. I am not a nail biter and take enough calcium but my nails never seem to grow. I have tried Avon Strong Results which wasn't too bad but not very effective. I have seen some nail strengtheners advertised via mail order quite expensive, are they worth trying!!

Its a two pronged attack of the problem, as both the oil and the massaging itself stimulate growth, and healthy nail beds.
If you dont want to spend lots of money, you can do the same thing massaging your nails, but use good old fashioned olive oil! - massage, leave it on for half an hour, then rinse off.

If you want to apply nail enamel, use the strengthener as a base coat and as a top coat. Then continue to apply the strengthening product every day. Remember, too much strengthening can actually make your nails brittle, so you might want to try a strengthening system..
Vegetable oils are in fact much more effective than any of the commercial nail care products available in the market. Most of the cosmetic products contain alcoholic fragrances that tend to make the nails dry and brittle.
