Rather than wetting her hair before putting the shampoo on, try massaging the shampoo into dry hair, then rinsing.
I'm not sure if this is available in your area, but there is a product from Wal-Mart called 'Goo Gone', which I've read has helped get petroleum based products out of hair. Good luck!
How an earth did she get vapour rub in her hair that's what I want to know hehe :o)
Vapour rub has a base not unlike Vaseline. Your girlfriend may have to resort to doing a wash with some washing up liquid, followed by a regular shampoo.
curiouser and curiouser....... !!

I'd suggest putting the shampoo on and leaving it on for at least 15 mins for it to work into the oily stuff.

she must smell lovely :o)
a bit of mayonaise and cold baked beans will do the trick, mix it up and rub it in!
matbe lemon juice? and next time your playing dodgy s3x games.........make her wear a bathing cap!
Theres a soap type stuff you get for farmers/ mechanics etc that gets oil and grease off their skin, its called Swarfega and it comes in a big red tub. Try that if nothing else works.
Tell your girlfried to put talcum powder in her hair, leave it for about 10mins and it will soak up some of the greasyness, then brush her hair vigorously, put shampoo on (dry hair) and massage it in lots and lots, then rinse it off. I speak from experience, ive suffered with Vapour rub in my hair too!!
Oh and tell her when she puts loads of talc in here hair not to look in the morror, cause she'll get a fright at how awful her hair looks!!!
